How Long Were Jared Toller and Constance Nunes Married?

Court filings tell a quieter, more precise story than the one that has spread online for years.

Jared Toller’s marriage to Constance Nunes ended with paperwork, not drama. A judgment closed the case on 24 June 2021. When the court sent notice of it to Nunes shortly after, the letter came back undelivered, once on 1 July and again on 7 July. The marriage was already over by then, on paper if nothing else.

That plain sequence, drawn from the Orange County Superior Court docket, is the clearest record that exists of a relationship that has otherwise picked up a lot of extra detail online. Some of it is small, like the story that Toller and Nunes met at a party in 2011 over a stuck bottle of wine. Some of it changes the whole picture, like the claim, repeated across dozens of sites, that the marriage lasted barely a year. Neither one holds up against the court file.

Who is Jared Toller

Toller has never given an interview or posted publicly about the marriage. In the years since it ended, he hasn’t corrected a single detail written about him, including the wrong ones.

His connection to the public record exists only because he married Constance Nunes. She’s the mechanic and television personality known for restoring cars at Mark Towle’s Gotham Garage on Netflix’s Car Masters: Rust to Riches. Toller was never part of the show himself and has no on-screen credit tied to it.

His date of birth isn’t settled any more than the rest of his story is. Some write-ups list it as 11 May 1990, others as 5 November the same year, and neither figure connects to any public record.

What is documented is the wedding. Toller and Nunes married on 9 February 2019 at Newhall Mansion, a Victorian estate in Piru, north of Los Angeles, which has hosted weddings for years with a public booking record to match. A number of accounts mention an all-black theme running through the dress and the cake, a detail that suits the mansion’s gothic style but hasn’t been confirmed by either of them directly.

What actually happened, according to the court file

Toller filed for divorce on 8 June 2020, sixteen months after the wedding. From there, the case moved slowly. The attempt to formally serve Nunes wasn’t logged until January 2021, and it was marked incomplete. An amended filing followed that May, close to a year after the case began, with still no response recorded from her side. Toller’s team then asked the court for a default judgment, and it was granted on 24 June 2021. That’s the date the marriage legally ended, over two years after the wedding, not the single year that gets repeated almost everywhere his name comes up.

Google’s own knowledge panel for this search already lists the marriage as running from 2019 to 2021. Most of what still ranks for his name hasn’t caught up with that.

Where the extra detail came from

The ten-year figure looks like two separate things folded into one. At least three unrelated celebrity sites list the wedding year as 2009 instead of 2019, which reads like a single typo copied from one write-up to the next. Separately, on a car culture podcast in early 2021, Nunes mentioned a relationship that lasted around ten years, starting when she was about 21. Whichever relationship she meant, it can’t be the one on the court record, since that marriage ran just over two years from the wedding to the judgment. Somewhere between the typo and that comment, a two-year marriage turned into a ten-year one.

His net worth gets a similar treatment. Figures ranging from $800,000 to $2 million show up across different sites, and none of them trace back to anything.

What Jared Toller does for work

Most of what’s written about Toller calls him a mechanic who races on the side, which is also the detail people search for most when they look up his name. None of it connects to an employer or a business that can actually be checked. CARS by Constance, Nunes’ own automotive business, has never listed him as connected to her work either.

The more accurate answer is that his job has never actually been confirmed. He’s never addressed it publicly, and nobody who has written about him has turned up anything else to check it against.

The one thing Constance Nunes has said about it

Nunes has rarely addressed the marriage directly. During an appearance on Ruben Rojas’s podcast, Live Through Love, she reflected on a hard stretch of her life that lined up with the timing of the split:

“You could be the perfect package at the wrong address.”

She didn’t explain who or what she meant by it. It’s still one of the only pieces of this story that comes directly from her, rather than from one site repeating what another already said.

Where things stand now

Nothing about Toller has surfaced publicly since the case closed in 2021. The court file is still the most recent record of him that exists.
